FRANKLIN HILL VINEYARDS FEATURED IN THE ELUCIDATOR MAGAZINE
Franklin Hill Vineyards was recently featured in the Spring 2012 edition of The Elucidator, a free, quarterly magazine distributed throughout the greater Easton area.
Over 35 years ago, at the tail end of the Age of Aquarius,
Elaine Pivinski and her then husband were looking for a way to
make real their 1960's ideals. They wanted to live off the land.
After learning about grapes, wine making and vineyards through
a program run by Cornell University, Elaine established Franklin
Hill Vineyards in Bangor, which was to become one of the very
first vineyards in Pennsylvania. Today, Franklin Hill produces over
35,000 gallons of award-winning wine per year, and is the largest
vineyard of the esteemed Lehigh Valley Wine Trail (at 13 acres).
"We took a chance all those years ago and tried something new,"
says Elaine who works together with her son Adam Flatt. "The
dream worked out, it really did."
