Steamed Pears with Red Wine & Raspberries

Ingredients

3 Firm ripe Anjou pears
1 cup Nittany Mountain Red or Medium Bodied Pennsylvania red wine
3 Tablespoons sugar
½ pint fresh raspberries

Instructions

Peel, halve, and core pears.  Put pears in steaming basket, cut side down.  Cover & steam until tender, about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine wine & sugar.  Stir to dissolve.

Place pears & raspberries in large serving bowl.  Add wine.  Let stand until room temperature. 

Serve as is or chilled.
